coolest guy on the planet enthusisasts

The

Coolest Guy On The Planet
An SEO EXPERIMENT

Hello and good day SEO
Enthusiasts,

You will notice that not only do I mention it in the title and first line of
the article but I also have

it mentioned several times throughout this article next to my name.

This article
"Coolest Guy On The Planet" is an SEO experiment in progress.
You see I've been working in

SEO for the past few years. Actually dabbling and experimenting with it due
to not being "formally"

trained in search engine optimization. I have used black hat SEO and gray hat
SEO in the past but finally

forked out the cash to get trained by one of the TOP SEO masters in the
nation. I will NOT mention his

name due to not wanting to create SEO competition for myself but what I can
tell you is that when you look

up the terms SEO, SEO Training, SEO Course, etc. etc. they are always listed
on the first page of Google

as they are true masters of search engine optimization. My instructor is a
genius and has the respect of

many SEO veterans out there.

My instructor has worked with some of the biggest companies out there with
regards to providing them seo

services. He took on one such company who wanted to be number one for a very
competitive term and got them

search engine optimized and ranked top ten in record time. Now if that is not
being
the coolest guy on the planet I

don't know what is BUT he's not going for that title I am. More on
me in a moment. Back to

the mortgage story. That term was so competitive that it was said it could
never be done. My instructor not

only did it but has kept the number one position for that term. I believe it
was mortgage loan or home

loan I really can't remember. I mean taking on the mortgage industry for a
very competitive term like that

can be very expensive and a lot of hard work that would take others way too
long to complete. That is why

people would say it could not be done but he did it. I was trained by him and
now am ready to see how far

I can get Mark Ress the
coolest guy on the planet in this seo experiment.

Now for the who am I. I am Mark Ress and not only am I an SEO but a really
good one at that. So good that

I can move the coolest guy on the planet up the seo charts without a
doubt. As for the person

who holds the number one spot well there are many ways to cheat the SERPs to
get yourself there. I am not

calling him a cheat but if you analyse his page it does not follow your
typical SEO guidelines for on-page

or on-site optimization. If you know anything about SEO you know that people
can Google bomb anything into

the top of the rankings by just getting a lot of high PR backlinks to point
back at them or rather the URL

they want to rank well for a particular term. Especially if your anchor text
contains the words "COOLEST
GUY ON THE PLANET
". That would really help and do the trick. To me Mark Ress
that is NOT being the coolest

guy on the planet. That is simply cheating. Again I am not calling anyone in
particular a cheater. That is

not what I am trying to do here. I am trying to do it the right way though.
The natural way. Again anyone

can blackhat there way to the top if they know how to do black hat seo
tactics but that is not what I

want. I want Mark Ress the coolest guy on the planet to rank well organically
and naturally.

At the time of this writing there is a gentleman by the initials of B.F. who
is number one for the search

term "The coolest guy on the planet". If you go to Google.com and do a search
on that phrase. I would bet

he is still number one. I have seen many people try to bump him from that
number one spot but so far they

have not been successful. They slide from the 2-10 position but B.F. is still
number one. If you're

wondering why I don't mention or spell out his name it's because I do not
want to give him anymore help

staying in the number one spot. I want Mark Ress the coolest guy on the
planet to get to the top ten for

the search term coolest guy on the planet and eventually give B.F. a run for
his money. If anything I will

have had fun doing it.

You see as the story goes from one internet marketer who became famous for
selling a manuscript about

"butterfiles and marketing" B.F. and the butterfly guy met in Las Vegas. One
night they were together at

the same table gambling and the butterfly guy heard B.F. say to one of the
female dealers I am "the

coolest guy on the planet." She kind of laughed it off and then B.F. said "No
really type it in Google and

you will see bf.com. Remember that the B.F. stands for the guys initials. So
the butterfly guy thought

B.F. was joking but then later saw he was not. In the butterfly guy's
research he found that there is a

group of SEO "guru's" all fighting for that number one position for "the
coolest guy on the planet" but no

one could knock B.F. out of the ranking for number one. So this is how the
story goes or at least how I

read it in an article.

Well instead of going out and trying to get a domain name with the words
coolest guy on the planet in the

domain name, since I did not want to pay, I just went to blogger and set up a
totally free blog which took

me all of two minutes to do. It takes longer to register a domain and then on
top of that pay for it.

Since this was just an seo experiment to get Mark Ress the coolest guy on the
planet to rank well for the

search term coolest guy on the planet I thought I'd just save a few bucks on
the registration. These other

guys, most of them anyway, paid for and registered domain names for with the
search term in them but I did

not think it was necessary.

So now you know a little history about the whole "coolest guy on the planet"
thing and why I Mark Ress

wants and is going to rank well for that search term. I just think it would
be a whole lot of fun to do

it too.

Now as of this post in less than a month I got mys site

http://coolestguyontheplanet1.blogspot.com/

indexed which was pretty good (and easy now a days) considering there are
almost a million plus pages for

the term coolest guy on the planet. Two days later I noticed that it shot up
to the 147th position and

then two days later after that it was the 41st position. I have not been
using blackhat tactics but

following some simple SEO basic rules for organic growth. You will soon see
that Mark Ress the coolest guy

on the planet will be ranking in the top ten for the search term coolest guy
on the planet. How soon I can

not tell you but hopefully soon.

As it stands right now B.F. is still number one and the butterfly guy, who
has WAY TOO MUCH time on his

hands, has a few different sites and pages ranked well for the term coolest
guy on the planet. If you just

perform a search for coolest guy on the planet in Google you will see the
results but since this is just

an experiment I am not worried about it. It's all for fun to me.

Now one thing I did notice is that at different times of the day different
results show up and that is

because millions of pages and websites are being submitted to Google everday.
Of course not all of them

are going after the search term coolest guy on the planet but Google is still
getting pounded none the

less so if you check the morning results for a term and then check mid-day
and THEN check at late night or

early a.m. you will see the results change. Some times the result changes are
dramatic. That is because

Google is utilizing various servers across the nation and world pretty much
to serve up these results. Do

they have just one bot or index? Hmmmmm now that is obvious that they do not.
They have several just like

several servers managing their index at any given time which does not include
all the back up systems.

Either way Mark Ress the coolest guy on the planet will rank well given
enough time.

One more ingredient I am adding to the mix is articles. I will be posting
this particular article up on

several article sites just to see how much of an impact they will have on my
rankings AND to see how many

backlinks I can acquire in a specific amount of time. Again this is just an
SEO experiment but since

others have used this method so will I. Does it work? Of course it does BUT
you have to know what you are

doing and it would be nice to have control over the anchor text on other
people's sites who will be

pointing back to you. Placing your keyword in the anchor text for the
backlink is vital. Slowly but surely

those of you reading this "Mark Ress the coolest guy on the planet an SEO
experiment" article can track

the results yourself.

If you are reading this and would like to take part in this experiment with
me then place a link back to

my website
http://coolestguyontheplanet1.blogspot.com/
with the anchor text or link
text reading "Mark

Ress the coolest guy on the planet". The link text or rather anchor text
should contain all the words

within the quotes. That is just one of the many ways you can get yourself
ranking well for a particular

term and a really important one. If you can get back links from high PR sites
or what are considered

authority sites then that's even better BUT there is one difference in what I
am doing. Let me explain.

Earlier I said that just getting a bunch of backlinks is simply cheating in
my eyes because you can buy

back links or create them with software now a days on blogging and social
bookmarking sites. Some refer to

that as Google bombing and Google hates that. Technically you can point a
bunch of backlinks to a site and

have the anchor text or link text not contain any keywords to a page and get
that page ranking well for

another term. Here's an example. Look up the words "miserable failure" in
Google. What appears as the

number one result is our President George Bush's official Whitehouse
government website. What you will

notice though is that the words miserable failure are no where on the page or
in the title tag,

description, etc. etc. What is happening is so many websites out there have
anchor text or link text

pointing back to his site with the words miserable failure in them so he wins
that top position in Google

for that term. Pretty interesting ha? Now if you are providing good content
and asking others to point

back at you to share this information it is not cheating in my eyes. I have
and will be having content on

my site for others to learn how to optimize their sites for the search
engines. As a matter of fact I

already have a few lessons up there for seo enthusiasts to start reading. Now
is this information all

new? No and most of it has been shared before but the difference is I will be
trying to make it all plain

English for people to understand and utilize. I want others to learn from my
site and that way they will

say that Mark Ress the coolest guy on the planet is truly the COOLEST!

Remember this URL:

and remember the name Mark Ress.

Thanks for taking the time to read this article. I hope it motivates you to
continue performing white hat

SEO and not succumbing to the black hat tactics. I know it is tempting and
very hard to resist BUT if you

just hold stedfast you will succeed. Continue to check my site out because
not only will I be posting

interesting lessons and tutorials but I will also be posting downloads like
ebooks and software for you to

utilize in your quest for becoming an SEO. It truly is not difficult. I read
some where once where it was

said that SEO boils down to three things:

1) Technical / Site Structure Issues account for (10%) 2) On-Site Content
accounts for (30%) 3) Off-Site Components such as Link Popularity account for
(60%)

With that being said you can come to the conclusion that off-page or off-site
elements far outweigh the

on-site elements. Perfect example is a google bomb like that of the
president's site mentioend earlier.

There are tons of other examples as well. For instance movie trailers usually
are just a video file or

flash and have zero content that can be spidered by the search enginges. Yet
because of all the backlinks

with the proper anchor text that zero content page can rank number one. Let's
hope that Mark Ress the

coolest guy on the planet has shared some valuable nuggets here today.

So in your opinion is the Coolest Guy On The Planet Mark Resss? You decide
and vote by placing a backlink

to my
http://coolestguyontheplanet1.blogspot.com/
site.

One thing I want to get clear is that I don't think I am smarter, greater or
better than those who are

ranking in the top ten for the search term coolest guy on the planet. They
deserver that title...for now.

;)

Since starting so late in the game and at the bottom of the pile for this
Coolest Guy On The Planet title

I think it's safe to say I have nowhere else to go but up.

To all those "coolest guys" on the planet who came before me. Thanks for
starting this experiment and I

hope to make you all proud by staking my claim as Mark Ress The Coolest Guy
On The Planet.
